Site Instructions

We tried to keep the use and navigation of this site as simple as possible. In case you have questions about using the different services available through these pages you will find some easy to follow (we hope) instructions below. If you still have questions or doubts about operating this site, please contact us.

Use the color calculator in 4 easy steps

Match RGB values to commercial tints in 3 easy steps

Step 1

R  G   B

Insert the RGB values of your original color. You can insert RGB data using different ranges and conventions. Usually computers handle each color component (Red, Green and Blue) as a decimal integer from 0 to 255. In particular cases you can obtain data in hexadecimal format (0 to FF, like in HTML color tags) or as floating point values from 0 to 1 (standard RGB). You are free to use any of these three systems. For individual RGB data simply entry your values in the "R", "G" and "B" marked fields (the server will automatically detect if the values are within the 0 to 1 range or above). If you have HTML color tags or hexadecimal values use the field with the "#" mark.

#

If you enter data in the "#" marked field leave the individual "R", "G" and "B" fields empty and vice-versa.
If you access this page through a different service, the RGB values will be automatically inserted from the previous results. You can at any time change these values. If you have color data in a different color space (L*ab, XYZ, CMY ...) use the "Color calculator" first to convert your values to RGB.

Step 2

The form contains a list of the available color collections. Click on the list button and select the color card, fandeck or color collection where you want your RGB values to be matched.

Step 3

Press the key to submit your data to the server. The following page will also contain your matching commercial tints. The 4 closest tints will be shown around your original data in order to give you a direct visual perception of any color difference. Matches will also be listed with their references, RGB, HTML and LRV values. You can click on each match's link to directly access the "Get color harmonies" and "Color calculator" services.

Errors

If you do not select any color collection or if your RGB data is not valid, the server will post on the result page a warning message. Insert the missing data or replace the invalid one before pressing again the "Start" button.
